چکیده

The coiled duct of the eccrine sweat glands consists of two or three layers of epithelial cells concentrically a r ranged around the lumen (Fig. 1). The superficial cells have a fibrous luminal border ; the peripheral cells, usually contain moderate amounts of glycogen and rest on a poorly developed basement membrane . Numerous blood vessels and unmyel ina ted nerves adhere to the coiled duct. The Luminal Border: The low microvilli on the inner surface of the lumina l cells are surrounded by a plasma membrane composed of two adielectronic lines separated by a light band. The outer dense line is ~ 5 0 A thick, the th inner one ~ 2 0 A; the light band between them is about 25 A wide. A few smooth surfaced vesicles in the cytoplasm benea th the microvilli may result from

Electron microscopic study on the duct of the human eccrine sweat gland with special remarks on the transitional portion epithelium.

Long tubular excretory duct of the human eccrine sweat gland has been divided by light microscopy into three portions: the initial or coiled portion which is included in the glandular coil, the ascending or straight portion which runs in the dermis toward the epidermis and the terminal or intraepidermal portion which ascends spirally through the epidermis toward the free surface of the skin to ...

The Ultrastructure and Histophysiology of Human Eccrine Sweat Glands

The electron microscopy of human eccrine sweat glands has been studied before and after stimulation by pilocarpine iontophoresis. The identity of the dark and clear cells in the secretory segment as defined by Montagna et al. (23) was determined by studying serial sections, thin for electron microscopy and thick for light microscopy. Cells with numerous apical secretory vacuoles are termed muco...

F-18 FDG PET/CT Imaging of Eccrine Sweat Gland Carcinoma of the Scrotum with Extensive Regional and Distant Metastases

Eccrine carcinoma is an extremely rare malignant skin cancer arising from eccrine sweat glands with a high metastatic potential. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with equal incidence in both sexes. It usually spreads to regional lymph nodes, with liver, lungs, and bones being the most common sites of distant metastasis. Because of tumor rarity, little is known about the value of F18- FDG PET/CT...

Unilateral linear Syringoma: A case report

Syringoma is a benign tumor arising from intra-epidermal ducts of eccrine sweat glands. It usually presents as small translucent papules on eyelids and upper cheeks. The case, which is presented, is a rare from of syringoma that occurred in a linear fashion on the trunk. Dermatologists should be aware of such form of syringoma to differentiate it from other similar lesions. This 23 year-o...

Porokeratotic eccrine ostial and dermal duct nevus with sensory polyneuropathy and hyperthyroidism: Report of a case

The case, who discribed here is a 66-year-old man with one year history of asymptomatic, keratotic papules with a linear distribution on the skin of his right palm near the wrist. On histopathological examination cornoid lamella-like parakeratotic columns above eccrine sweat ducts were observed. The acrosyringium was also dilated. He had been followed up for predominantly sensory polyneur...
